Vice President Operations / General Manager

The Vice President Operations / GM partners with the President, CLINapps / SVP & GM, eClinical to set strategic goals and objectives. This position provides tactical and strategic leadership to establish and implement long-range goals, plans and policies. This position drives the division to achieve and surpass sales, product development and profitability objectives with the ultimate goal of creating shareholder value. The position has gross profit responsibility for the solution line, and in that regard oversees full client implementation services. This position will also work closely with corporate wide product development to establish and monitor product roadmaps. This position collaborates with, and is integral member of, the broader eClinical Leadership team, driving strategic market differentiation and value creation for clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

Develop comprehensive market expansion strategies to further business objectives, generate competitive advantage, support long-range goals, and optimize capital deployment
Collaborate with Product Innovation Group to drive product roadmaps
Oversight of product feedback process and user group interface with sites and customers
Lead with the creation of business cases to support new initiatives.

Client and Operational Management

Coordinate with senior management to develop delivery budgets (labor, purchased services and capital expenditures) and track/report on this budget throughout the year
Develop and maintain a delivery staffing plan – recruit and hire relevant resources within this plan to deliver contracted services
Manage client and clinical services delivery resources as they deliver projects on a global basis
Manage day-to-day delivery activities for program/project management, professional services and business process execution
Ensure all projects are delivered on-time and within budget, ensuring high quality deliverables that exceed client expectations
Manage technical delivery resources as they oversee client implementation efforts, as needed, including Requirements, Development, Testing and Validation
Refine and further develop the delivery policies and procedures to continue increase quality and cost effectiveness

Business Development

Collaborate and lead operational implementation of business development initiatives, establishing and executing go-to market strategies
Oversee Delivery Services components of the business development lifecycle including lead/proposal support, client presentations and client relationship management
Manage project change order process (creation, socialization and client acceptance) in conjunction with Business Development Operations and Finance

Personnel Management

Motivate and lead a high-performance management team and provide coaching/mentoring as necessary to this team
Develop and lead training activities to ensure appropriate resource development and employee satisfaction/retention
Direct the efforts of personnel responsible for the day-to-day client and technical delivery activities as outlined in client service engagements
