Product Analyst

Position Overview:

The Product Analyst, Product Innovation, is responsible for following to the detailed product roadmap for their assigned product line(s). Additionally, the Product Analyst is responsible for capturing and managing product development requirements for their assigned product line across the organization; maintaining working relationships with customers, Business Development, Scientific Services, Client Services and Technical Delivery(TD) staff to discover and understand business needs and translate them into system requirements.  The Product Analyst is responsible for drafting and managing all required SDLC and validation documents and facilitating the review and approval of all project documentation.  Working under the direction of management, this position works in collaboration with other Product Analysts in the development, documentation, and communication of Product Innovation processes and procedures.  The Product Analyst is responsible for owning the discovery, synthesis, and analysis of information for Bracket's line of products using tools, processes, documentation, and stakeholder elicitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Note:  Other duties may be assigned.

Collaborates with a team of Product Analysts and other assigned staff to ensure the timely development and execution of system requirements documentation.

Elicits and captures requirements on roadmap feature/functions, working with business leaders and internal stakeholders.

Elicits and captures requirements to work with Product/Project Management on managing the delivery feasibility and management of project scope, resources and schedule.

Captures detailed requirements, use cases, guides, and diagrams for product releases.

Follows Project Charter definition for new products or enhancements to existing products.

Facilitates requirements definition sessions with stakeholders to capture business requirements.

Responsible for the analysis, definition and oversight of requirements for complex applications, products and/or integrations.

Analyzes proposed statement of work / vision documentation, and work directly with internal and external customers to produce functional requirements documentation.

Follows and participates in the communication of functional business process across the entire organization.

Uses the available tools and information sources to elicit requirements, including interviews/meetings, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, and workflow analysis.

Analyzes feedback on the product and document artifacts from others inside and outside the organization with respect to functionality, usability and an auditable process.

Analyzes information gathered from multiple sources, work with stakeholders to reconcile conflicting information, identify/evaluate potential risks, and translate abstract or high-level information into useful/actionable written documentation.

Analyzes technical expertise on all required SDLC and validation documents.

Is assigned tasks from resource allocation and planning.

Analyses requirements as needed throughout the software development lifecycle.

Works closely with project management and software developers to formulate the high level technical solution.

Participates in training and mentoring efforts of project team members in areas of identified expertise as needed.

Participates with business users on issues that they might encounter in the course of providing daily project support.

Participates in internal initiatives and projects that enhance TD delivery capability.

Continually suggests, elicits, identifies, coordinates, and implements process improvement initiatives.

Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure regulatory compliance and support audit requests.

Follow defined validation processes and produces validated documents for all initiatives.

Perform ambiguity review of requirements to provide suggestions according to set standards regarding typos, order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology

Format, edit, and support Product Innovation documents for audit readiness so that all technical documents are presented in a consistent way

Prepare artifacts for post requirements readiness in testing management software.

Manage post requirements artifacts in time for product release. (For example, Deployment Guides, Operations Guide, Release Notes, and others, as necessary.)

Write and maintain detailed Trace Matrices that link requirements to design and to test cases

Other project work and responsibilities as required


Skills & Competencies


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.

CBAP preferred, but not required.



3 or more years of experience functioning as a Product Analyst for Business Systems Analyst or similar IT role.

Experience in requirements elicitation and documentation required.

Experience in documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flow diagrams preferred.

Experience in UML preferred

Experience in Wire Frames preferred

Proficient in MS Office Productivity Suite required.

Experience in using a requirements software application preferred, but not required.


Competencies & Personal Attributes

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and succinctly, complex project plans, design and technical issues, as well as business and product requirements

Detailed working knowledge of a System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Previous demonstrated success in gathering information from a wide variety of sources and subsequently crafting it into effective and audience-appropriate technical and non-technical documentation

Proven track record of success analyzing, defining and overseeing requirements for advanced and complex applications, products and/or integrations of advanced complexity

Proven track record in managing the requirements definition process for a variety of stakeholders representing large and complex organizations

Experience working in a regulated technical environment and/or previous experience with clinical software highly desirable

Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple ongoing projects of varying scope and high levels of complexity with minimal supervision

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and be able to establish/maintain positive work relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel

Keen active listening skills and ability to empathize with speaker’s point through verbal and non-verbal cues

Detail-oriented and able to successfully plan, prioritize, execute and track tasks and responsibilities in order to meet established individual and group deadlines

Strong organizational, time-management, analytical and decision-making skills in order to efficiently evaluate, plan and accomplish personal work goals

Demonstrated capacity to effectively follow established processes to ensure the successful transfer of complex technical, process and organizational knowledge

Proven ability to work in a team-oriented work culture, providing back-up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers within and across functional areas necessary

Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives

Familiarity with configuring business applications is a plus

Familiarity with GCP and 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus

Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours as needs dictate, including ability and willingness to be available to provide project support after hours and on weekends if necessary

Ability and willingness to occasionally travel nationally and internationally, if required

Some travel may take place on/over weekends
