The Local Area Network Administrator primarily assists in maintaining Bracket’s Local Area Network (LAN). This includes, but is not limited to: performing technical administration, maintenance, and support for systems; diagnosis and resolution to network and workstation technical problems; providing employee assistance and support on common application and system issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide 1st and 2nd Tier support for internal and external consumers of Bracket network resources.
Promptly and efficiently respond to inquiries, requests and issues via phone, web, or e-mail.
Prioritize and route third level support calls to proper personnel.
Manage, maintain, and improve production LAN based on Windows Workstation Operating Systems
Install, configure, and thoroughly test all new computer and network system components and peripherals.
Troubleshooting PCs and printer problems, configuring and installing PCs and peripheral equipment, including software updates, system upgrades, etc.
Responsible for SharePoint administration tasks, as required.
Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase.
Participate in identifying new processes or improving existing processes.
Maintain an inventory of hardware, software, and miscellaneous computer and network supplies for immediate and/or planned future use.
Prepare all required documentation for the portion of work assigned and report.
Responsible for physical security administration at local site (Alarm, Badges, etc).
Provide regular insight and overview on IT activities, issues, and project deliverables.
Responsible for assistance and coverage of peer Bracket LAN Administrators in cases of absence, PTO, and increased workloads.

Skills & Competencies
Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
Optional certifications in related field
Minimum 2 years experience in mixed protocol environment.
Working knowledge of Windows platforms with emphasis on Active Directory
Working knowledge of SharePoint, Exchange,, IIS/ASP, other scripting/automation languages/tools a plus.
Advanced hardware and software skills.
Working knowledge of FDA regulations for computerized systems preferred.

Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills, procedures and approaches.

Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment, providing back-up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers within and across functional areas.

Previously demonstrated proactive and positive approach to tasks and projects overall, as well as to the types of scheduling & process changes that are inherent in a fast-paced business.
