Product Analyst

The Product Analyst, SmartSupplies is responsible for contributing to the detailed product roadmap for the SmartSupplies product.  The Product Analyst is responsible for capturing and managing product development requirements and provides expertise across the organization; maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders to discover and understand business needs and translate them into system requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Note:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in managing scope and development timelines for product lifecycle
  • Partner with Product Managers and other business departments to design and develop new requirements into existing software functionality
  • Assist in providing expertise and updates to the data model as necessary to meet product requirements
  • Develop architecture/implementation of software utilizing Java OOAD concepts
  • Develop and maintain a detailed internal feature/function roadmap for assigned product modules and components with the product manager(s)
  • Prioritize roadmap feature/functions, working with business leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Create detailed requirements, use cases, guides, and diagrams for product releases
  • Works closely with product developers to formulate the high level technical solutions 
  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years’ experience functioning as a Product Analyst, Product Manager or similar
  • Proficient in MS Office Productivity Suite required
  • 2+ years’ experience in developing Web application using Java/J2EE
  • Proficiency with Struts/Spring framework, XML parsers and web services
  • Adequate knowledge of PL/SQL
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., Oracle)
  • TOAD and/or SQL Developer experience is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in testing complex business applications and knowledge of requirements based testing
  • Experience working in a regulated technical environment and/or previous experience with clinical software highly desirable
  • Detail-oriented and able to successfully plan, prioritize, execute and track tasks and responsibilities in order to meet established individual and group deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail, well organized, good decision-making skill, self-administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and be able to establish/maintain positive work relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Strong organizational, time-management, analytical and decision-making skills in order to efficiently evaluate, plan and accomplish personal work goals
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively follow established processes to ensure the successful transfer of complex technical, process and organizational knowledge
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented work culture, providing back-up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers within and across functional areas necessary
  • Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours as needs dictate, including ability and willingness to be available to provide project support after hours and on weekends if necessary
  • Familiarity with configuring business applications is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
