Reports Analyst

The Reports Analyst, SmartSupplies is responsible for developing reports and performing data analysis using SQL and Business Objects tools.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Note:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop architecture/implementation plans for reporting projects utilizing Jasper Reports Server
  • Perform technical and advisory functions in the development of Jasper Reports Server architecture and the creation of frameworks for reporting, dashboards, delivery and scheduling
  • Review and understand the data necessary to meet the reporting requirements
  • Design or assist in designing the data model necessary to meet the reporting requirements
  • Work with business analysts and other key stakeholders within the business to obtain requirements and provide customer support for reports

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years’ experience functioning as a Reports Analyst or equivalent experience
  • Experience in developing Web application using Java/J2EE
  • Adequate knowledge of PL/SQL
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g. Oracle)
  • Experience with all facets of Jasper Reports Server or Business Objects a must
  • Ability to gather & document requirements, assist in report design, provide development support/management and participate in all software quality assurance aspects for a report
  • Hands-on experience in testing complex business applications and knowledge of requirements based testing
  • Experience working in a regulated technical environment and/or previous experience with clinical software highly desirable
  • Detailed working knowledge of a System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office Productivity Suite required
  • Keen attention to detail, well organized, good decision-making skill, self-administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and be able to establish/maintain positive work relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Strong organizational, time-management, analytical and decision-making skills in order to efficiently evaluate, plan and accomplish personal work goals
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively follow established processes to ensure the successful transfer of complex technical, process and organizational knowledge
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented work culture, providing back-up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective cross-functional work relationships
  • Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours as needs dictate, including ability and willingness to be available to provide project support after hours and on weekends if necessary
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
